Jobs, Timeline & Calendar
Under Planning in the menu.
The working plan of the project in three views — Jobs, Timeline and Calendar: phases, jobs, estimates, spend, progress, man-days, documents and actions.
Methodology: Jobs are the controlled units of work. Each job can have actions underneath it, while estimates and actuals roll up to phase and project totals. The same phases and jobs are drawn three ways: Jobs as the editable list, Timeline as the Gantt with the critical path, and Calendar as the month. Detailed quotes, invoices and payments live on the Money page; this page is where the work itself is defined and tracked.
Steps:
- On Jobs, press + Add job under a phase, type the Job name and press Add; + Add phase at the bottom adds a phase.
- Click a job name to open its drawer: Status, Priority, Assignee, dates, Duration, Progress, Waits for dependencies and Building Elements; Edit full job details opens everything else.
- Use Columns to choose what shows (Trade, Supplier / contractor, Budget, Quote, Man-days, Progress, Dates, Assignee, Files) and Colour by priority or schedule.
- Switch to Timeline: drag a bar to move it, drag its right edge to resize, click to open; Fit and the zoom buttons frame the programme.
- Switch to Calendar and press + Add, or the + on a day, to add a job or phase on that date. Every entry reads the same way: struck through once it is done, solid red while it is still live and past its date. Click one to change its date or mark it Done or N/A — N/A takes it off the calendar. Consent dates are on it too: a dashed pale entry is a projected date — the determination of an application not yet submitted, assuming the steps before it go to plan. Payments, invoices and quotes have a calendar of their own: follow Financial calendar, or open Money → Calendar. Export Excel and Export PDF are on every view.
