Building Elements

Under Planning in the menu.

A register of the building fabric — windows, doors, rooflights, radiators and fireplaces — each with its own reference, condition, decision, cost and photographs.

Methodology: Elements are the physical fabric of the house, not the work done to it. They belong to the property rather than a project, because the same window is surveyed, repaired and eventually replaced across several projects. Each element carries a stable reference (W1, W2) so photographs, quotes and drawings can all point at the same object, and that reference survives a room being renamed or moved to another floor.

Steps:

  1. Press Add elements: choose the Element type, How many, and optionally a name, elevation, room and floor. Create from photos builds elements from photographs you already have.
  2. Pick an element to fill in Identity, Condition & size (Good, Fair, Poor, Failed / beyond repair) and Decision.
  3. Set the Action — Leave as is, Repair, Refurbish, Replace or New (additional) — with an estimated cost and budget; everything starts Undecided.
  4. Link an element to a job under Work once scheduled, and press Request quote to send the windows and doors out to suppliers.
